How to make printable dollhouse flooring
Choose a floor style, set the exact width and depth of your miniature room, and customize its colors. MiniPaperLab produces printable flooring on US Letter or A4 as a vector PDF, including extra sheets for larger room boxes. No account or upload is required.
Choosing wood floors, checker tile, terracotta or brick
Wood planks have staggered joints and delicate grain lines, making them useful for bedrooms and living rooms. Checker tiles create a retro kitchen or hallway. Terracotta adds warmth to a cottage kitchen or patio. The staggered brick pattern suits workshops, courtyards and miniature shops. All patterns are original vector artwork.
Understanding dollhouse flooring scale
Enter your finished miniature floor width and depth in inches. A floor that measures 6 × 4 inches inside your dollhouse prints at exactly 6 × 4 inches. It is not divided by 12 again. The scale selector only adjusts the size of each board or tile from its full-size reference: a 6-inch real plank printed at 1:12 is 0.5 miniature inch (12.7 mm) wide. At 1:24 it is 0.25 inch (6.35 mm).
How to print dollhouse floorboards at actual size
Download the PDF, select the same paper size in the print dialog, and choose Actual Size or 100%. Turn off Fit to Page and automatic page scaling. Before using decorative paper, test your printer with the free print calibration sheet. The preview is enlarged; the printed measurements are the reliable guide.
Joining several printable floor sheets
For a larger miniature room, the pattern flows continuously from sheet to sheet. Choose a small overlap, match the grout joints or plank ends in the shared strip, trim one side, and attach from the back. The overlap is included in the exported pages; do not stretch the print to make the edges match. Test dry before gluing.
Paper, cutting and applying the floor
Matte presentation paper or smooth 24–32 lb paper works for flat floors. For a sturdier base, glue the sheet onto thin chipboard or foam board with a light, even coat of adhesive. Avoid soaking the paper, which can warp the surface. Let it dry flat before trimming or attaching furniture. Consider a matte clear coat on high-touch dioramas after testing your ink.
Frequently asked questions
Can I print 1:12 dollhouse floor tiles?
Yes. Select 1:12, choose a tile design, and enter the full-size reference tile width. The tool converts that tile dimension once and keeps your miniature floor dimensions unchanged.
Can I use A4 instead of US Letter?
Yes. Select either paper size. The template uses each sheet’s physical PDF dimensions and may require more or fewer pages for the same room.
Why are the floor patterns larger on screen?
The design preview is enlarged so you can inspect the pattern. Print Sheet shows the physical proportions on paper. Neither is actual size on a monitor.
Where can I make matching miniature wallpaper?
Use the Dollhouse Wallpaper Generator to customize coordinating wall patterns with the same miniature scales and paper sizes.
